GokturkACARS
USER MANUAL · v4.5
GokturkACARS is our own flight recorder. It watches your flight in the simulator, scores your landing and files the PIREP to the Crew Center automatically. Every Gokturk Virtual flight must be recorded with it.
1. Before you install
- Windows 10 or 11.
- A simulator: MSFS 2020/2024, X-Plane 11/12, Prepar3D or FSX.
- An approved Gokturk Virtual pilot ID (for example GKT0019) and your password.
- A working internet connection while you fly.
2. Installation
- Sign in to the website and open Downloads. The installer is members only.
- Extract the .rar archive, then run GokturkACARS-Setup.exe.
- IMPORTANT: do not install into "C:\Program Files". Windows blocks writes there and both setup and the auto-update will fail. Choose a folder such as C:\GokturkACARS instead.
- If setup still refuses, right-click it and choose "Run as administrator".
- Allow the app through Windows Firewall when asked — it needs to reach the server.
3. First run
- Start the simulator FIRST, load your aircraft at the gate, then open GokturkACARS.
- Enter your pilot ID and password on the login screen.
- Open Settings and confirm the server address is correct.
- The status light turns green when the bridge to the simulator is connected.
4. The bridge to your simulator
- MSFS 2020 / 2024 — SimConnect, installed with the simulator. Nothing to do.
- X-Plane 11 / 12 — install the XPUIPC or the provided UDP plugin.
- Prepar3D / FSX — FSUIPC is required (the free version is enough).
- If the light stays red, the bridge is the first thing to check.
5. Flying a recorded flight
- Fill in the flight number using the GKT prefix, for example GKT1IW, then the departure and arrival ICAO codes and your aircraft.
- Press START before you push back. Recording begins immediately.
- Fly normally. The app follows every phase: boarding, pushback, taxi, take-off, climb, cruise, descent, approach, landing and gate arrival.
- Do not close the app or the simulator mid-flight — the recording would be lost.
- After landing, taxi to the gate and set the parking brake. Press END to file the PIREP.
6. How your landing is scored
- The perfect touchdown is -150 fpm. The closer you are, the higher your grade.
- A+ and A are smooth touchdowns; B is acceptable; below that the landing was hard.
- The recorder also stores G-force, threshold height, centreline offset, bounce and rollout distance — you can review all of it on the flight detail page.
- A landing of exactly -150 fpm counts as a perfect landing on the Greaser Board.
7. If something goes wrong
- Setup or update fails — you installed into Program Files. Reinstall elsewhere.
- Status light stays red — the simulator is not running yet, or the bridge (SimConnect / FSUIPC / XPUIPC) is missing.
- Login rejected — check the pilot ID format (GKT + four digits) and that your application has been approved.
- PIREP does not arrive — check the server address in Settings and your firewall.
- Still stuck? Write to the staff team with a screenshot of the error.
